Practitioners' Perception about Professional Learning Practices at Higher Secondary Level in Public and Private Sector
The study analyzed practitioners' perceptions about professional learning practices at higher secondary level in public and private sector. The components of professional learning practices were teaching learning process, students' development, teachers' professional relationship and service, institutional development and personal and professional growth. The objectives of this paper focused on checking practitioners' insights regarding above given components. The sample of the study were 633 practitioners. Major findings were that there was no major difference in perceptions of both sector teachers about teaching learning and students' development. The practitioners of private schools showed more interest in professional relationship, institutional development, personal and professional growth. It is recommended that institutional administration may make it mandatory for practitioners to prepare professional teaching portfolio and may design professional development courses about building their competency in classroom management. The administration of public schools may plan professional learning communities and knowledge sharing societies through launching collaborative campaigns.

Effectiveness of Kumon Method of Teaching Mathematics at Elementary School Level in Pakistan: A Longitudinal Study
The experimental study was designed to determine the effectiveness of Kumon method in comparison with traditional lecture method in the teaching of Mathematics to grade-6. The objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of Kumon method for academic achievement of children in Mathematics. All students of grade-6 of Fazaia Inter colleges of Rawalpindi and Islamabad was the population.Cluster sampling technique randomly was used. One of the three Fazaia colleges (Grade-6) was selected randomly. All grade-6 students of theselected cluster formed the sample of the study. Data was collected and analyzed by applying t-test and recommendations were given on the basis of findings of the study. This study shows that Kumon method is more effective for teaching mathematics to Grade 6 students in comparison with traditional lecture method and equally helpful in teaching mathematics effectively to boys and girls.

The Effects of Family Size and Learning Achievement on Dropout Rate of the Students at Primary Level
In this paper the researcher observed about family size, learning achievement and dropout rate of the students at the primary level in Swat, Pakistan. A sample size of 170 respondents was interviewed from the total population of 700 (dropped students). To find out the effect of family size and learning achievement on dropout rate of the students. A logistic regression model was applied. The result indicates that majority of respondent’s family size was above ten members and monthly income (4,000-7,000) PKR. Similarly, large family size was found highly significant “P = 0.000” and Low Learning Achievement was significant as “P = 0.011” with dropout from school. The study concludes that out-of-school (large family size) and in-school (low learning achievement) are the major causes of high dropout rate from schools at primary level.

Academic Performance of Students in Mathematics and English: A Case Study of District Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
The present study investigates the major factors associated with academic performance of students in Mathematics and English. The data are collected from matric level students who have passed the 9th class examination in the area of District Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan through questionnaire. The performance in these two subjects is measured through scores of students in 9th class board examination in these subjects. Significant factors in the performance in these subjects are measured through Chi-square test of association. The analysis conclude that the factors area, accommodation, daily study hour, parent’s education and parent’s concept of Mathematics and English were found to be significantly associated with the performance in these two subjects.
