Harry Potter Revisited: Exploring the selected series through Psychoanylsis
This paper takes into consideration one of the series in the world which has a huge name “Harry Potter” written by the famous writer J.K. Rowling. The study explores the characters' ability to remain focused and logical in the face of difficulties. The research uses a qualitative research design with a descriptive, exploratory and interpretative approach. Besides, the study uses content analysis by Hasieh and Shannon (2005) for the analysis using psychoanalysis theory. Freud (1900) divided the mind into three components: the superego (consciousness of good and evil), the ego (logic and balance), and the id (emotions and impulsive desires). The research uses these concepts to illustrate how the selected series illustrate the characters' internal conflicts between morality, reason, and emotions. Hence, this study is significant because it gives readers insight into how individuals actually deal with emotions and make decisions.
