Financial Management Competence of Selected and Promoted School Heads: A Demographic Comparison

    This study intended comparing the financial management competence of selected and promoted school principals (heads). It was quantitative and comparative in nature. The population was principals of government high schools in Upper Punjab. Purposive sampling technique was applied for sampling the size of 213 school heads from district Sahiwal. A selfdeveloped questionnaire comprising 34 items was used to collect data. The reliability of the questionnaire was found to be .82. Data were analyzed using advanced statistics using SPSS. The study established that school heads have awareness planning procedures and implementation processes but school heads are not confident to coordinate with stakeholders in financial matters of school. The significant difference appeared in financial management competence of promoted and selected school heads and males and females school principals. It was recommended that financial management orientation and training may be arranged for school heads of public secondary schools to improve their financial management competence.

How Head Teachers Motivate: Exploring Perceptions of Teachers about Head-Teachers Motivational Techniques at Higher Education

    Motivation is a key aspect of every workplace if the workforce is to function effectively and efficiently. This study explores that leadership in higher institutions of education in KPK Pakistan, looking at a typical set of 12 male and 12 female higher institutes. The aim was to offer a picture of the current situation, as perceived by principals and teachers, and to explore differences in their perceptions. The views of the Heads of the Institutions (Principals) and a sample of their teachers were gathered using a questionnaire. This suggests that there may well be two very different kinds of motivations atmospheres in the sample of colleges surveyed. Secondly, where teachers tend to respond well to a supportive, affirmative approach on the leadership, where they feel valued and good work is praised, as well as being given the freedom and trust to innovate, the Principals tend to a more authoritarian approach.

    Explore the Role of Educational Heads Regarding Secondary Schools: Perspective of Problems, Difficulties and Issues Syed Shafqat Ali Shah* Waqar Un Nisa Faizi† Abdul Majeed Khan‡ Education is a positive endeavor and a financial expenditure; generally considered to be a kind of training for life. The key objectives were (a) to examine the administrative problems of secondary school heads (b) to compare the problems of the secondary schools in the rural and the urban areas. The study population was all of the Gujrat District Secondary Schools. The research sample was 64 secondary schools, 32 of which were rural and 32 were urban. Out of 32 schools in the rural 16 boys and 16 girls were further educated. Similarly, boys were sixteen and girls were sixteen out of 32 urban schools. For the educational heads of secondary schools, a questionnaire was created for data collection. For the purpose of the analysis, the percentages are used. The key purpose of the study was to identify the administrative problems, faced by high school heads that were not in fact adequately responding to the needs of the students.

Impact of Head Teachers' Transformational Style on Students Achievements

    This research was done to explore the head teachers’ transformational leadership style, to see its impact on students’ achievement. The descriptive quantitative and survey approach was applied to conduct this research. The data were attained from secondary school teachers about the transformational leadership style of their heads through a five-point questionnaire. The matriculation results of students from sampled schools were also taken to see the effect of the head's leadership style on students' achievements. The purposive sampling method was used to collect data. Eight representative schools were selected from the district Lahore cantonment area and fifteen teachers were selected from each school to collect data and analyse SPSS. The data is presented in frequency distribution tables. Descriptive and influential statistics were applied to infer from data. It revealed that school heads with transformational leadership styles and strict rules regulations clear goals and values had a high effect on students’ achievements.
